Meet Jen, Our Awesome New Apprentice
Sarah and I trained as midwives by completing a long apprenticeship with a traditional midwife. We believe in passing on the craft of midwifery to women who are called to attend others during the special times of pregnancy, birth and postpartum. We’re excited to introduce you all to Jen! We think she’s going to be an excellent addition to the geneabirth team.
Hello! I’m Jen-
I believe that every body is capable of bringing new life into this world through birth.
I have always had a strong connection and love for families and their babies. My passion for pregnancy, breastfeeding, and postpartum care was intensified after my own home birth experience with my first born, William. The immense support I experienced from my midwives showed me the true value of traditional homebirth midwifery care. I dreamt that someday I could utilize this passion to support those who are expecting to welcome a baby into the world.
Shortly after William’s birth, I trained as a Birth Doula. I have spent the last four years supporting over 100 families within my private practice for the birth of their babies.
I am also a graduate of the University of California San Diego as a Certified Lactation Counselor, which specializes in breastfeeding classes and extended lactation counseling; a nationally certified Car Seat Technician, and am certificated in Spinning Babies, Hypnobabies, and Infant and Prenatal Craniosacral Therapy. In 2017 we welcomed our second baby, Lincoln, safely at home, and in 2018 I accepted this apprenticeship with Geneabirth Midwifery. I am passionate that everybody gets the support they desire, however they desire it. I recognize the importance of the whole spectrum of the perinatal period, and I cannot wait to support your family through pregnancy to birth, and beyond!
